Art Projects

Throughout his career, Robert has collaborated with artists and designers on producing artworks, installations, exhibitions, books, and films. The focus of much of this work is on the relationship between history and memory, the nature of freedom, and the future of humanity in the face of transformative technologies.

As a student he worked with the graphic designer Peter Miles and subsequently with the design group FUEL and other art collaborators on commercial and non-commercial projects: from idents for the Sci-Fi Channel to participatory installations. For many years he was a board member of the National Trust for Greece, a charitable association that co-sponsored major art exhibitions, including From Byzantium to El Greco at the Royal Academy of Arts.

In Hong Kong, he created Future Industries with Simon Birch, Peter Caplowe, and Chris Smith to support and curate public art events in the city.  Future Industries opened a gallery at 21 Square Street, Sheung Wan, and partnered with many coporate and public organizations, as well as smaller private companies: AXA, Diesel, Foster + Partners, HKSAR Tourist Commission, Lane Crawford, Louis Vuiton, Peroni, and Swire Properties.

Robert has lectured widely on art, design and history, and written the forewords to many art catalogues. His commitment to art-making continues with the Open Cube project.
